Termite Treatment & Inspection
Termites don’t announce themselves. By the time you see damage — soft floors, crumbling drywall, hollow-sounding wood — the colony has been feeding for months. Maybe years. And in Southern Michigan, subterranean termites are the most common type. They come up from the soil and into your foundation without you ever knowing.
Extreme Exterminating offers two proven solutions: a liquid perimeter barrier that stops them at the foundation and a bait system that eliminates the entire colony underground. Both are backed by BASF, the world leader in termite control.

Two Proven Approaches
Termite Treatment Options
Every property is different. Some need a perimeter barrier. Some need colony elimination from below. We’ll inspect your situation and recommend the right approach. Sometimes it’s both.
Liquid Perimeter Treatment
Termidor® Liquid Barrier
The world’s most trusted termiticide. Termidor gets applied around your foundation, creating a treated zone that termites can’t detect. They pass through it, carry the active ingredient back to the colony, and transfer it to every termite they touch. The colony collapses from the inside out.
- Undetectable to termites — they can’t avoid it
- Transfer effect spreads through the entire colony
- Complete control typically within 90 days
- Long-lasting residual protection at the foundation
Bait Station System
Advance® Termite Bait System
Stations get placed in the ground around your property. Termites find the bait, feed on it, and bring it back to the colony. The Advance system uses a low-disturbance design that keeps termites feeding instead of abandoning the station. Hits as fast as 15 to 45 days.
- Targets the colony at its source underground
- Low-disturbance design prevents station abandonment
- Ongoing monitoring catches new activity early
- Non-invasive — no drilling, no trenching around your home
Not sure which option is right? That’s what the inspection is for. We’ll assess the damage, identify the species, and give you a straight recommendation. No pressure, no upselling. Request your free inspection.
What to Expect
How Termite Treatment Works
We don’t show up and start spraying. Every treatment starts with an inspection. Here’s what the process looks like from start to finish.
Thorough Inspection
We check the foundation, crawl space, basement, garage, and all exterior walls for signs of termite activity. Mud tubes, damaged wood, frass, swarmers. If they’re there, we find them.
Custom Treatment Plan
Based on what we find, we recommend Termidor liquid, the Advance bait system, or both. You get a clear price and a clear explanation. No mystery charges.
Professional Application
For liquid treatments, we trench and treat around the foundation perimeter. For bait systems, we install monitoring stations at strategic intervals around the property. Both methods are applied in a single visit.
Monitoring & Follow-Up
Bait stations get regular check-ups to confirm colony elimination and catch any new activity. Liquid treatments provide long-lasting residual protection. Either way, we stay on top of it.
Know the Signs
How to Tell If You Have Termites
Most homeowners don’t find termites until the damage is already done. But there are warning signs if you know where to look.
Mud Tubes on Foundation Walls
Pencil-width mud tunnels running up from the soil to your siding or foundation. This is how subterranean termites travel between the ground and your home.
Hollow-Sounding or Soft Wood
Tap on a baseboard, door frame, or floor joist. If it sounds hollow or feels spongy, termites may have eaten it from the inside out.
Swarmers or Discarded Wings
Flying termites near windows in spring are a red flag. Finding small piles of shed wings on windowsills is an even bigger one. That means a colony is already established nearby.
Bubbling Paint or Sagging Floors
Paint that looks blistered or floors that feel uneven could mean termite damage underneath. The wood is being consumed behind the surface.
